Censor an image: blur faces and data
Drag over the area and choose pixelate, blur or a black bar.
About to post a chat screenshot, a receipt or a photo with other people in it? Mark the area that has to go and choose how to hide it: pixelation, blur or a black bar. You can censor as many spots as you need in the same image and dial the strength up until the data is truly unreadable.
One detail most tools get wrong: here the censoring is burned into the pixels of the downloaded file, not an overlay someone can peel off later. And since everything runs in your browser, the photo you are trying to protect is never uploaded — which would defeat the whole point of censoring it.

Your images never leave your device. Compression runs entirely in the browser — no uploads to any server. Other popular compressors send everything to the cloud; this one doesn’t.

Frequently asked questions
Can the censored part be recovered?
No. The area is rewritten into the pixels of the final image: the original content no longer exists in the downloaded file. Use a high strength so pixelation does not leave the text guessable.
Which mode is safest for a number or ID?
The black bar is safest, because it erases the information completely. High-strength pixelation and blur also work, but at low strength large text can still be inferred.
Is the photo metadata (GPS) removed too?
Yes. The image is rewritten from scratch in the browser, so EXIF, GPS and the original date are not carried into the downloaded file.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens inside your browser — nothing is sent.
